Preserving Military Heritage
A Group of like minded individuals who get together with Military Vehicles
The Lincolnshire Military Vehicle Group (LMVG) is dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and exhibition of military transport. We bridge the gap between technical heritage and public awareness, ensuring that the legacy of wartime innovation and engineering remains an educational resource for future generations.

And it's not just vehicles, within the group there's a huge interest in military history, honouring the fallen, our veterans and our serving personnel. Here's the sort of thing we get up to:
Some words from Faith...
Recently Nigel shared a photo on 29th March of a fresh faced rear gunner. The caption immediately caught my attention; the image was taken at East Kirkby the night of the raid on Juvisy-sur-Orge, France. 18 April 1944.
Over the nights of 18th/19th April 1944 a major allied air raid took place on the railway marshalling yards of Juvisy (and its neighbouring town, Athis-Mons). The aim was to cripple the German transport infrastructure prior to the DDay Landings. The raid was a success but devastatingly there were high civilian casualties, 392 deaths, and catastrophic destruction to this small town.
My sister and her family live in Juvisy and I have had many happy holidays visiting this pretty town, she reminded me that the annual commemorations were just 3 weeks away.
This set in motion a plan to send a heartfelt message of respect and friendship from Lincolnshire to Juvisy at this important time of reflection and remembrance.
Through longtime group member Pete Jeffrey, I was able to meet with Andrew Panton of the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre. The same evening I spoke to the Committee of my local Woodhall Spa branch of the Royal British Legion. Then the following day I telephoned a dear friend to ask for help with contacting the Officer Commanding BBMF, Squadron Leader Paul Wise.
In just 3 days I received the rapid resounding cooperation, financial support and warm blessing of these 3 key local organisations who all wished to reach out with me to the people of Juvisy-sur-Orge.
UNITED IN REMEMBRANCE
I would like to sincerely thank the following people who were instrumental in making this happen;
Andrew Panton, The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, OC BBMF Sqn Ldr Paul Wise, RAF BBMF, Pete Jeffrey, Gary & Annette Southcott, RBL Woodhall Spa & Chairman Andy Wilkes and of course my sister ❤️
